Leaders Network!

What value do you bring to the organisation in which you operate? Actively pursuing business relationships and connections is one of the greatest ways to ensure that you are adding value to any business.

Corrs Chambers Westgarth CEO John Denton John Denton describes the greatest employees of value is “the person, community, enterprise or nation who or which is most connected. This is because their networks greatly increase their potential to "make an impact and leverage their activity".

In today’s society our level of connectedness is our lifeline. Networks have the power to greatly change and influence our potential to make an impact; both positive and negative. (Swimmer Stephanie Rice’s social media strategy is a perfect example of what not to do!)

Princeton University Professor Anne-Marie Slaughter, says that “the measure of power is the ability to build and find value in connections and networks around the globe. Such networks are the basis for exchanging ideas, innovation and collaborating to meet goals”.

Although the internet has taken the world by storm, the best way to build an authentic relationship simply is face to face. Here are a few ways to identify how a leader will add value to any business.

A leader will:
Have the ability to reinvent themselves. Leaders will align their approach to suit different challenges and markets.
Building relationships with different people ensures they stay connected and can offer the best of their business to their
       customers.
Take on tasks whole-heartedly. Their enthusiasm and love for the job really stands out!
Find a mentor and stay grounded.
Be flexible, honest and adaptable. The world is changing every minute; a leader will have the capacity to embrace change
and uncertainty and run with it.
     • Be innovative and open to learning and improvement, driving them competitively into the future!
